Grammar School

1st Cerebral Palsy of New Jersey is an approved private school for students with multiple disabilities. Our dedication to providing an individualized, skills-based education is paramount. Grammar school students at 1st Cerebral Palsy of New Jersey range in age from 5-13. Loving and dedicated certified special education teachers lead our classrooms with one or more aides. We follow the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for each grade level. Each student’s progress is tracked and evaluated using the Cumulative Progress Indicator.

Keith Rygiel, Associate Director / Principal

Dr. Rygiel has more than 20 years of experience in special education at 1st Cerebral Palsy of NJ.  He began his career as a member of our physical therapy department before furthering his education and transitioning into an administrative role. He has the experience, knowledge and skills necessary to be an effective school leader. Please contact him anytime – he would be happy to answer all your questions on anything from child placement to state regulations to parents’ rights. He is also available for personal tours of our facility.

Our grammar school teachers use an interdisciplinary approach when teaching which is critical to the success of our school and our students. Teachers work side-by-side with therapists to give each student a consistent and intensive program that fosters success in all areas.

All grammar school classrooms are equipped with computers that have touch screen capabilities. Classrooms are also equipped with the latest Smart Board interactive whiteboards. This interactive technology helps teachers deliver dynamic lessons and students write notes in digital ink and save work – all with the simple touch of a finger. These unique, collaborative learning experiences ensure students are at the center of every lesson. Students also have access to iPads to supplement and enhance their lessons. 1st Cerebral Palsy of New Jersey has wireless internet service for easy access throughout the school.
